Voicini does not collect your data. Everything you record stays on your device and in your own iCloud.
The short version
Voicini has no account and no sign-in, no analytics and no ads, and no server run by the developer. Everything you record is kept on your device and — if you choose — synced only to your own private iCloud. The developer cannot see it.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for Voicini is Maksym Melnychuk, the app’s independent developer.
You can reach the developer at support@maxfromzero.com.
What data exists, and where it lives
Everything you create in Voicini is stored on your device. The data involved is:
- Your notes — the voice recordings you make, their transcripts, and the tags you add to them.
- Attachments — any photos, videos or documents you choose to attach to a note.
- A search index — a local database (built with the open-source library GRDB) that indexes your transcripts so search is fast. It never leaves your device.
- Backups — when you export a backup, Voicini packages your notes into a single file (using the open-source library ZIPFoundation). The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it.
- App settings — your preferences (for example your chosen recognition language) are stored on your device using Apple’s standard settings storage. No personal data is collected through them.
If you turn on iCloud, your notes and attachments also sync to your own private iCloud database through Apple’s CloudKit (container iCloud.com.maxfromzero.voicini). That is your iCloud, tied to your Apple Account — the developer has no access to it, and there is no other server that ever receives your content.
Microphone and speech-to-text
Voicini uses the microphone only while you are recording a note, and only when you start the recording yourself. The audio is saved on your device (and in your iCloud, if you enabled it) — never on any server belonging to the developer.
Transcription runs on your device using Apple’s built-in Speech framework. For a few languages the system may fall back to Apple’s Dictation, which can send the audio to Apple’s servers to turn it into text. When that happens, the processing is done by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy — not by the developer. Voicini itself never receives or stores your audio on a server of its own.
When you add an attachment, Voicini uses Apple’s system photo picker (PHPicker). It never gains access to your whole photo library — it only receives the specific items you pick.
Purchases
Voicini’s subscription and one-time purchase are handled by Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit). Apple is the seller and processes all payment information; the developer never sees your card number or payment details. The developer receives only Apple’s aggregated, anonymous sales reports, which cannot identify you.
Crash and performance diagnostics
To find and fix bugs, Voicini relies on Apple’s built-in MetricKit. These diagnostic reports are delivered through Apple, contain no personal data, and are used only to keep the app stable and fast.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics
Voicini shows no advertising, includes no analytics SDK, and does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because it has nothing to track. Your data is never sold and never shared with third parties for their own purposes. This matches Voicini’s App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.
Your rights and your control
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of and objection to processing, and data portability. Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud — not with the developer — you can exercise most of these directly, at any time, without asking anyone:
- Access and portability — export everything (audio, transcripts, attachments and tags) as a single backup file whenever you like, and import it back on any device.
- Rectification — edit a transcript, re-tag a note, or change any content directly in the app.
- Erasure — delete any note; deleted notes stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days so you can recover them, then are removed permanently. Deleting the app and its iCloud data erases everything.
The developer holds none of your content, so there is nothing for the developer to hand over or delete on your behalf. If you still have a question or want to make a formal data-protection request, email support@maxfromzero.com and you will get a reply.
Children
Voicini is not directed at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone — including children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. Any material change is reflected here, with a new “Last updated” date at the top.
